Apologies for the long absence (again). Writing is such a challenge…but I’m really trying! So much so, that I contributed an essay for a local online art publication, which should be available next week. And I’m thinking about dusting off my short fiction writing projects and seeing if I can do something with any of those ideas. I’ve recently found my way to the “cozy fantasy” book trend and am pretty jazzed about the potential that subgenre offers for ideas and inspiration.

All this month I’m participating in the Fun A Day prompt, which involves doing something creative every day. Today I decided to work on my website as my “creative project”. There’s a new headshot and bio, plus I updated the landing page. Plus, look - I’m posting here!

This month I also start two rather involved volunteering commitments in the local community, so I’m expecting to be very busy. There’s a monthly meeting for the townships recreation board, of which I’m now a member, and I joined the community development committee for the town down the hill which also involves attending a recurring meeting and possibly some events. We plan to stay in this area, so I wanted to make a contribution in some way, and hopefully I can help make a positive impact while meeting new people.

The forcast for this weekend is tentatively calling for snow. Fingers crossed we get more than a light dusting, I’m really hankering for some winter vibes so I have an excuse to curl up with a book and a mug of cocoa or snuggle with some kittens. (The kittens probably deserve a post or two of their own.)

I’ll work on trying to keep this space more regularly updated, but you know how that goes…
